Cork is now home to the latest Moxy Hotel and Residence Inn by Marriott, where we completed the electrical services for this €40 million project. Navigating the complexities of a busy city centre, we delivered this seven-storey development with 194 rooms in just 22 months—our fourth successful collaboration with JMK Group.
Overview
Marriott International appointed Update Group to deliver the electrical services for the Moxy Hotel and Residence Inn in the southern city of Cork.
This €40 million development, located on Camden Quay at the former McKenzies Circuit Courthouse, features two hotels operating in one seven-storey building. The Moxy, with 153 hotel rooms, and The Residence Inn, with 41 long-stay suites, combine to offer unique accommodations in the heart of the city.
The Project
The project posed significant development challenges due to its location, surrounded by busy city streets, as well as nearby residential and commercial properties. Despite these challenges, construction was successfully completed in just 22 months, from start to finish.
This marks the fourth project we have completed in our successful association with JMK Group.
