Overview
Hilton Charlemont Dublin is a significant guestroom expansion project delivered within a constrained urban site, adding 112 new rooms while maintaining uninterrupted hotel operations throughout construction.
The new extension integrates seamlessly with the existing hotel, enhancing overall capacity, functionality and guest experience, while respecting the operational demands of a busy live hospitality environment.
The project reached completion following a carefully managed construction and commissioning programme, with handover achieved without disruption to day-to-day hotel activities.
Our Scope
Update Group was appointed as the specialist MEP contractor to deliver the full Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing services for the new guestroom block, including upgrades to existing plant and infrastructure.
The scope included the installation of a Hybrid VRF system, a low-energy, water-based solution that delivers efficient heating and cooling while minimising refrigerant use within occupied guestroom spaces.
Additional works included the delivery of new back-of-house laundry facilities and plant system upgrades, alongside the integration of all new services with the existing hotel systems. Detailed logistics planning and phased sequencing were essential to managing interfaces and maintaining safe, continuous hotel operations on a tight city-centre site.
