Overview

Hilton London Gatwick Airport is a large-scale hospitality development located at one of the UK’s busiest international airports, supporting high passenger volumes and round-the-clock operations.

Appointed by Arora Group, Update Group delivered building engineering services across two construction phases, providing a total of 821 hotel rooms within a live airport environment.

Gatwick is the third-busiest airport in the UK by passenger traffic, and the project required a carefully coordinated delivery approach to ensure safety, continuity of operations and minimal disruption throughout construction.

Our Scope

Update Group was responsible for the full Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing services across both phases of the development, following the successful completion of Phase 1 and subsequent appointment for Phase 2.

Phase 1 comprised 588 rooms, with Phase 2 delivering a further 233 rooms, requiring seamless integration of new MEP systems with existing installations and operational infrastructure.

Careful planning, phased programming and clear communication with all stakeholders were central to maintaining a cohesive and safe working environment within a highly constrained airport setting.
